MT Plumbing & Drainage Ltd is owned and operated by partners Mark and Tania Palmer.
Both have lived in Marlborough all their lives. They met each other back in 1989 and got married six years later.
In the early days of their relationship, they worked in the horticultural industry. That’s where they connected with Andrew and Christine Bishell who approached Mark to run their Apple Orchard.
After some time, Andrew offered Mark a plumbing apprenticeship which he gladly accepted. Mark became a plumbing apprentice in 2004 and started his drainage apprenticeship a few years later.
In 2012, Mark Palmer became a Certified Drainlayer and then a Certified Plumber in 2013. You can check out his latest certification and licences in the Public Register on the website of the NZ Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board using his Registration# 21270.
A few years later, in 2016, Mark and Tania decided it was time go out on their own. This led to the formation of MT Plumbing & Drainage Ltd. Mark is the Lead Plumber and Drainlayer while Tania handles the administrative aspects of the business.
Prior to the move to having their own business, she was working as a qualified Teacher Aide. Now, in addition to being a full-time mum, Tania is the Office Manager and Administrator in the business.
Outside of business, Mark loves giving back to others. Over the years, he has enjoyed coaching both his son’s and daughter’s soccer teams while Tania is on the side line cheering their children on.
Mark and Tania are both very family-oriented. Currently, they have 6 wonderful children which includes 2 little brothers that are Home for Life (aka permanent care) children.
High values, both personally and professionally, are a hallmark of Mark and Tania’s personalities - honesty, reliability and friendliness is what they are all about!
